Dr Hamish Campbell

Born and raised in the Ilam electorate in Christchurch, Hamish is proud to now serve the electorate as it’s Member of Parliament. Having attained a PhD in cancer and viruses from Otago University, he had a successful international career as a cancer research scientist before choosing to return to Christchurch with his wife, Carol, to raise their two young daughters. Together they run two businesses – an organic apple orchard and a sustainable flower delivery business. His passion to stand for Parliament was driven by his desire to see a strong health and education system that gives everyone a fair chance, along with a genuine consideration for our natural environment. Outside of work Hamish enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with his family.
